Day 0: All packed up

Our lives have been a little crazy the last few days, and we have had little time to share details of our news with everyone before we headed out on our latest adventure, so we decided to use this blog to update you all.

Rashaad has been hired on contract working for the Government of the Northwest Territories for at least the next 6 months, based in Yellowknife. With an immediate start date, we had to pack up our lives and get up there in about a week or so.

Since we knew we wanted to bring up our car, we needed to hit the road with 5 days of driving in front of us ASAP. Over the course of a very busy few days, we managed to get organized and plan the move and trip, with the help of MANY of our very generous friends. This included packing up the house that we have lived in for 2.5 years (and accumulated tons of stuff in) and moving it into storage within a couple of days!

With the craziness now behind us, we have headed out on our cross-country adventure… in the middle of January. Stayed tuned for daily updates and photos from the road, a little bit about life as we settle into Yellowknife, and our attempts to find our own place to live. For now, we will being staying with a wonderfully generous and good friend, Gustavo.
